  • The race is open to all Nationalities.

  • Nobody can run the course without official registration.

  • Bicycles, in-line skates, prams, push carts, shoes with built-in or attached rollers and any other wheel-run objects are not allowed on the course other than official race and medical vehicles. If you are caught with any of these, you will be directed off of the route.

  • Walkers are asked to start near the end of the pack to avoid being crowded or bumped

  • Pets are forbidden on the course. No four-legged runners!

  • Any bibs changing between two runners disqualify both runners.

  • Any runner giving his bib to any other person from outside the course is eligible to disqualification.

  • Taking shortcuts is totally forbidden.

  • Accepting any drink or food not coming from the official course stations is totally forbidden and is a disqualifying violation.

  • Any pacing done by a person on a moving vehicle (car, motorcycle, bike, and rollers) is a disqualifying violation and especially when it comes from agents or coaches.

  • A runner pushing or conveying any other runner is a disqualifying violation.

  • Riding any vehicle even for a brief moment is also a disqualifying violation.

  • Running without a shirt is a disqualifying violation.

  • Deliberately obstructing or interfering with other competitors is a disqualifying violation.

  • Participants racing in wheelchairs are required to wear helmets throughout the race.

  • Please do not wear jewelry or carry precious items with you. The BMA Management will not be held responsible for any lost valuables.

  • While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organizer to ensure the participants' safety, participants run solely at their own risk and the Organizer will not be responsible or held liable for any injury or death howsoever arising from training for, during, or after participation in the Event. Participants are strongly encouraged to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual Event day.

  • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel the Event at any time without prior notice to the Participant, in which case the Organizer will make effort to inform the Participant prior to the date of the event. There will strictly be no fee refund if the event is cancelled for reason of force majeure i.e. due to occurrence of incidents that are beyond the control of the Organizer or acts of God which renders it impossible or unsafe to hold the event.

  • Completion of the official entry form, including online registration, confirms the Participant's agreement to abide by all the relevant rules and regulations of the Organizer, IAAF, and the BLOM Bank Beirut Marathon 2016.

  • By signing up for and providing any information, personal or otherwise, in order to gain access to any product(s) and/or service(s) and/or participate in any program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities involving the Organizer and the event sponsors ("the sponsors"), the individual is deemed to have given explicit permission for the Organizer and the Sponsors to collect, analyze, collate, share, disclose to third parties, sell and/or otherwise use without any liability to the individual, any personal information relating to that individual as may in its sole discretion deem fit, including without any limitation for its programs, planning, data-processing and statistical or risk-analysis, research, fund-raising and/or any other purposes in furtherance of the functions. The Organizer and the Sponsors declare by virtue of being the event owner or sponsor, they can use services of third parties;
      i. For development or implementation of programs, products or services as it may deem necessary;

      ii. For outsourcing of any program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) and/or any activities;

      iii. For promotional, marketing and/or administrative purposes;

      iv. For all purposes as required by law, including without limitation court proceedings, criminal investigations or prosecutions or where so ordered by any competent authority;

      v. In connection with any proposed innovation, assignment, transfer, sale, lease, license, partnership, joint-organizing and/or any collaboration where and when required in relation thereto.


  • In consideration of the Participant's use of the Event's website, the Participant agrees to:
      i. Provide true, accurate, current and complete information about the Participant contained in any registration form (such information being the "Registration data")

      ii. Maintain the security of the Participant's password and identification;

      iii. Maintain and promptly update the Registration data to keep it true, accurate, current and complete. The Organizer may contact the Participant from time to time by email. Any notice sent to the email address registered with the Organizer shall be deemed as received by the Participant. If the Participant provides any information that is untrue, inaccurate, obsolete or incomplete, or the Organizer has grounds to suspect that such information is untrue, inaccurate, obsolete or incomplete, the Organizer may suspend or terminate the Participant's registration and refuse any and all current or future use of the Event's website (or any parts thereof) without any refund of registration fee.


  • The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Event race routes as they deem fit for the safety of the Participants and/or to prevent any potential hazards in the running of the Event, at any time without prior notice to the Participant. In such cases, every effort will be made to inform the Participant prior to the date of the Event. The Organizer shall not be held liable for any loss or inconvenience caused due to such changes.

  • The form on the reverse side of the participant's running bib must be completed in full and accurately. Participants must wear the assigned bib on his/her chest. Participants who do not display bib numbers will be taken off the course by security officers/officials and immediately disqualified.

  • Road closures on the Full Marathon Route will be lifted after six (6) hours from commencement of the race (cut-off time). Cut-off times will be set at specific check-points along the route to ensure the safety of runners who are unable to complete the race within the six (6) hours. Participants who are still on route and choose to continue running after the cut-off time, do so at their own risk.

  • A participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, Race Director, Referee, and/or security officer.

  • Once registration has been duly processed, there will be no fee refund for participants who do not eventually participate in the Event for whatever reason.

  • The Organizer reserves the right to use any photographs (including those of participants), motion pictures, recordings, or any other media records of the Event, for any legitimate purpose including commercial advertising and distribution to Sponsors anywhere in the world.

  • The Organizer reserves the right to limit and/or refuse entry to the Event and/or other program(s), event(s), talk(s), demonstration(s) or any other activities involving the Organizer and the event sponsors without giving any reason and/or notice.

  • The Organizer reserves the right to cancel and/or add any race category without prior notice to the Participants.

  • Participants are strictly not allowed to transfer their race entries to another party or change race categories after their registrations are confirmed.

  • Any participant who commences to run before the actual flag-off of his/her registered race category will be immediately disqualified.

  • The competitors must comply with age limitations for each race

  • Participants must be 17 years or older as of Event day to participate in the Full Marathon (42.195km) category.

  • Participants must be 7 years old and below as of Event day to participate in the 1k run with mom race. Only one parent/guardian will be issued with an identification Bib "GUIDE" and allowed to accompany the child during the race.

  • Participants must be within 7 and 17 years old as of Event day to participate in the Youth Race (5km) category.

  • Each participant is allowed to win only one prize. A winning participant in more than one category may elect to receive his/her award in the category offering the higher prize money. Regardless of the winning participant's choice of prize, his/her position in each of the relevant categories will not change.

  • Disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in writing including electronic mail within 4 days of Event day.

  • All participants must collect their Race Entry Pack which contains their Bib tag and other items during the BIB Pick up during the pre-determined period and location as stipulated on the official website, www.beirutmarathon.org.

  • All finisher medals and Goody Bags must be collected on Event day and no requests will be entertained thereafter.

  • All participants who successfully complete their race will be able to download their certificate online

  • The Organizer reserves the right to modify or substitute any of these rules and regulations of the Event from time to time as they deem fit. If there is ambiguity in any of the provisions, the Organizer shall be the authority to interpret and in doing so, the Organizer will take into account the interests of all the affected participants. Any updates on the rules and regulations of the event will be notified on the official website, www.beirutmarathon.org and it is the responsibility of the affected participant to keep abreast with any changes.
