VOLUNTEER PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Volunteering with the Beirut Marathon Association can be a great team-building exercise, a way to get community service credited hours required for schools or universities, a chance to meet and help more than 47.288 Lebanese and international runners from all walks of life. 
To get hands on experience in managing a marathon race, you can be a very valuable part of the Beirut Marathon Association's team.
Volunteers are the heart of this event and over 4.150 volunteers are needed for the Beirut Marathon events.
Volunteering is a great way to support healthy lifestyles, active living and be part of the largest running event in the region.  It is fun, and you will enjoy the sweat of victory without having to break a sweat. 
If you have strong ethics, a fun and committed personality, this volunteering opportunity is for you.

Please note you can only be above 16 of age to take part in the BMA Volunteer Program

    Step 1:

    Select a Volunteer Project

    BMA OFFICE VOLUNTEER (a brief interview is required in order to get better assigned)
    RACE DAY VOLUNTEER (you will choose a task from the task board below and will be assigned to the project manager in charge of the section chosen)

    Step 2:

    Select the race you would like to help in ONLY ONE CAN BE SELECTED

    BANKMED YOUTH RACE (April 2nd, 2017)
    Saradar Bank WOMEN’S RACE (May 21st, 2017)
    BLOM BANK BEIRUT MARATHON (Nov 12th, 2017)

    Step 3:

    Select 3 tasks you would like to help in ONLY 3 OPTIONS CAN BE SELECTED AT ONCE

    Help Desk Officers: Assist in making sure the runners have a meeting point with their loved ones
    Announcers:Announce the gathering area, start, finish and entertainment area / must be fluent in Arabic and English
    A script will be given to you to memorize
    Start Line Officers: Assist with the start line management, making sure all runners are running in their chosen race according to their BIB number color and starting hour
    Lebanese Elite Runner Officers: Assist the elite runners to their tents, the correct start area and at the award podium
    Special Needs Officers: Assist the special need athletes at the start, course and finish making sure they have support when they need it
    Adopt A Team To Run Officers: Assist the participants of underprivileged kids from all over Lebanon
    Photographers: In charge of taking pictures for social media, archiving and filming the race
    IT IS PREFERABLE TO HAVE YOUR OWN CAMERA
    Entertainment Officers: Assist the entertainment manager on the stage
    Media Officers: Assist the press on the start and finish area / make sure they can access good locations
    Medical: Assist the medical team
    Baggage Claim Officers: Assist in the baggage claim booth and making sure all baggage stay safe during the race
    Timing System Officers: Assist in the electronic timing of the race / this role is only for computer science student or any relative fields
    Operation Room: Handle communication tasks during race operation hours

    It is mandatory to attend the meeting that will be set prior to the start time of your task.
